Betty was born in Bassingham on the 10.12. 20, to the late Robert & Flora Green of Green's Stores. Betty won a scholarship to Newark High School & after passing her School Certificate attended Commercial School. Betty worked at Malleable before State Registered Nurse training at Leeds Infirmary. Betty met 1st husband Reg Millroy a Royal Canadian Airman & travelled as a War Bride to live on The Canadian Prairies. On returning to England, Reg joined his in laws' business. Betty & Reg have 2 daughters, Sheila & Christine. Betty married 2nd husband Eric Newman in 1981 & together they enjoyed the arrival of 5 grandchildren & 4 great grandchildren.
